ISO14001:2004 CERTIFICATION
MPC has achieved ISO 14001:2004 Certification.
ISO 14001:2004 is a voluntary international standard for
environmental management. It outlines the framework for the
creation and implementation of an environmental management
system (EMS). ISO 14001:2004 requires that companies go
"beyond compliance" and identify specific proactive ways that
the environment can be protected.
"Our commitment to certification confirms that
environmental excellence is a top priority for MPC," said David Kutoff,
President/CEO, MPC. “We are proud of our reputation in the Electronics
Recycling industry for high standards of environmental excellence and we
believe certification further demonstrates our commitment to the environment
and continual improvement."
The International Organization for Standardization
(ISO) www.iso.org is an independent worldwide federation that
promotes the development and implementation of voluntary international
standards. ISO consists of representatives from 146 countries, with
the United States represented by the American National Standards
Institute (ANSI) www.ansi.org.

QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Customer Focused
MPC is committed to our customers.
This commitment is reflected in providing quality service,
maximization of return on assets and the minimization of recycling
costs.
MPC is committed to earning our
Customer’s loyalty through doing things right the first time,
every time.
The
direct measure of how well we are delivering on our quality
commitment is the degree to which we meet our Customers'
requirements and exceed their expectations.
Performance Driven
Performance is achieved by teamwork
and a process and culture of continual improvement achieved through
monitoring and rigorous evaluation.
MPC strives to continually improve
our processes, products and services to deliver solutions of the
highest value.
Environmentally Based
MPC is
committed to providing the highest quality recycling, remarketing,
and recovery of our customer's electronic equipment through
environmentally proper methods.
MPC is committed to leading our
industry in environmentally sound methods for processing material.
MPC is committed to the prevention of pollution through a commitment
to maintaining our strict “No Landfill" policy, which states that
MPC will not landfill any material which it processes, generates or
utilizes within its operation.
MPC is committed to comply with all legal and other requirements.
MPC is committed to communicate and reinforce this policy throughout
the company, to our customers, our suppliers and to the public.
POLLUTION PREVENTION
It is the policy of MPC to prevent any pollution
of our environment. This has and will continue to be implemented
by the CEO of the corporation. Typical examples of how this is
being accomplished are as follows:
- An ongoing, aggressive installation
program of state-of-the-art equipment for any fume or dust generation
process.
- Formal employee education and training
programs.
- Evaluation of all processes for environmental
impact alternatives.
Included in MPC’s recovery technology
are baghouse dust collection systems for the shredder as well
as any operations where dust is generated. Dust collection hoods
have been modified for increased containment. Baghouse dust collection
systems have vacuum gauges installed to alert operators if a tear
or hole develops in a bag. To further enhance dust minimization,
MPC routinely cleans the production area floor with a water scrubber
floor vacuum. The water from the scrubber is collected and evaporated
to recover the dirt and dust particles, which are then dried and
recycled. A separate dedicated water washing and collection system
is used periodically to wash down the walls and equipment within
the shred room. The recovered wash water is also evaporated, dried
and recycled.
